Is Iomaí Rud a Tharla – the story of the Shaw’s Gaeltacht’ by Nuala Ní Neill

‘Is Iomaí Rud a Tharla – the story of the Shaw’s Gaeltacht’ by Nuala Ní Neill Aisling Ghéar are reviving their production of ‘Is Iomaí Rud a Tharla – the story of the Shaw’s Road Gaeltacht’, first performed in Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich and for Turas at the East Belfast Mission in 2019. ‘We’re particularly proud of this show, says Carrie Anne McAlonan-McCrudden, General Manager, it was an enormous responsibility to capture such an important ‘social revolution’ in the city of Belfast. We see the real-life heroes of Ireland’s first urban Gaeltacht almost every day, so no pressure!’ This inspirational story follows one young couple as they fall in love, marry and begin their dream of raising their family through Irish and becoming part of the Shaw’s Road Gaeltacht.

Is Iomaí Rud a Tharla is a universal story of how “ordinary” people can and do achieve extraordinary things. R McMillen Irish News

Is Iomaí Rud a Tharla – the story of the Shaw’s Gaeltacht’ by Nuala Ní Neill

“Is Iomaí Rud a Tharla – the story of the Shaw’s Road Gaeltacht” le Nuala Ní Néill Tá Aisling Ghéar ag tabhairt ar ais chun stáitse a léiriú den dráma “Is Iomaí Rud a Tharla – the story of the Shaw’s Road Gaeltacht’ a léiríodh don chéad uair i gCultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich agus ag Turas i Misean Bhéal Feirste Thóir in 2019. Deir Bainisteoir Ginearálta Aisling Ghéar, Carrie Anne McAlonan Mc Crudden, “Tá muid iontach bródúil as an seó seo. Freagracht ollmhór ba é léiriú ceart a dhéanamh ar an réabhlóid shóisialta fíorthábhachtach seo a thit amach i gcathair Bhéal Feirste. Castar fíor-laochra na chéad Ghaeltachta uirbí in Éirinn orainn chóir a bheith gach lá. Mar sin de, níl brú ar bith orainn!” Leanann an scéal inspioráideach seo lánúin óg amháin agus iad ag titim i ngrá, ag pósadh agus ag cur tús lena n-aisling a muirín a thógáil le Gaeilge agus iad mar bhaill de Ghaeltacht Bhóthar Seoighe.

Is scéal domhanda é Is Iomaí Rud a Tharla a léiríonn go dtig le “gnáth”dhaoine tabhairt faoi rudaí neamhghnácha agus iad a bhaint amach. R McMillen, Irish News
